Everyone’s got a secret life in the movies. . .
Hello, out there! Happiest fall to all y’all.
We’ve been bad at updating this space, but that means there’s only good news: it’s all uphill from here! We’re making a new commitment to updating you on all the good news and events and happenings around A Strange Object in one spot. Let’s start off with a doozy.
Today is publication day for our newest title, Our Secret Life in the Movies. We’re so excited to send this baby out into the world. Kirkus called Our Secret Life “an intriguing, frequently affecting experiment that challenges its readers to think anew about sharpening and refracting their memories of both life and art.” David Gordon Green says it’s “a beautiful aftershock of the movies.” We say it’s one of the best books you’ll pick up all year.
J.M. Tyree and Mike McGriff were on NPR’s Weekend Edition this Sunday talking about collaboration and The Blob. They’ve got a fascinating interview with each other up today on the Paris Review. How else are we celebrating? By making lists at BBC, Vogue, and Vol. 1 Brooklyn. By listening to the authors’ stellar playlist over at Largehearted Boy. By toasting to everyone who helped put the book together.
Our Secret Life is available now. We’ll get it out the door and into your hands fast.
