    Three Questions for the Artist

    1. Tell us about a book, a film, or an album from childhood that affected the way you look at the world. My mother used to play records and one song I remember hearing and singing a lot was "I Ain't Got Nobody," by Louis Prima. I think the silliness of the way he sings the song coupled with the self-pitying lyrics appealed to me as a kid. I think I still like things that are many things at once, things that are sad and funny.

    2. What is the antidote to boredom? I think maybe gratitude is the antidote to boredom. If I can slow down and notice what is around me, whether it is a child making art, or the sound of an owl in the tree outside my house, I can appreciate the moment.

    3. What is an image from a recurring dream you've had? I have had a recurring dream of flying where I am very high above the land and sometimes go into a sort of free fall. I have never actually crashed or hit the ground!
